Free Classes on Wellness and Nutrition

Kathy Napoli, an Alamo-based registered dietician with a master’s degree in holistic health education, will offer three free classes on nutrition and wellness this month. Two classes will be held at the John Muir Women’s Health Center and the other will be held at John Muir Health Outpatient Center, Tice Valley/Rossmoor. Both locations are in Walnut Creek.

Natural Transitions Through Nutrition and Lifestyle
6:30 to 8 p.m., October 21
John Muir Women’s Health Center
This class will offer natural help for perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms, including cravings, hormonal weight gain and low energy.

Get Leaner and Stronger
9:30 to 11 a.m., November 1
John Muir Health Outpatient Center, Tice Valley/Rossmoor
Abdominal weight has been linked to an increased risk for heart disease and diabetes. This class will help participants overcome barriers to losing abdominal weight and learn some new strategies to achieve and maintain a normal weight.

Brain-Boosting Nutrition
9:30 to 11 a.m., November 15
John Muir Women’s Health Center
This class will address the role that nutrition plays in maintaining a healthy brain as we age. Specific “smart” foods added to the daily menu can help us stay sharp, focused and joyful.
